Biography


Christy Blew is IT Accessibility Specialist in Training and Outreach in the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She has been active in the area of IT Accessibility for almost 20 years with a focus on document creation and remediation. A key role she plays is outreach to the UIUC campus through developing training and presenting about the importance of accessibility in all areas of the digital world. In 2018, she created the course Accessibility 101 which has become a staple in the University IT Accessibility training environment as a new IT Accessibility policy goes into effect on the UIUC campus. Christy received her Master's in Technology with a certification in Computer Technology from Eastern Illinois University in 2005, and is currently enrolled in the Master's program in Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois.
