Biography


Alyson Patsavas is Assistant Professor in the Department of Disability and Human Development. She teaches: DHD 201: Disability, Rights, and Culture; DHD 204: Disability in the Humanities; DHD 205: Disability, Race, Class, and Gender; DHD 404: Disability, Sexuality, and Health; and DHD 407: The Cultural Politics of Disability and Health. Her research focuses on the cultural discourses and epistemologies of pain, the intersections of disability, queer theory, and feminist theory. She is also a co-writer and co-producer on the forthcoming documentary film, Code of the Freaks.
