Reasonable Accommodations: A Look at EEOC's New Guidance

On March 2, 1999, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued a guidance specific to reasonable accommodations in the workplace under Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The newly issued guidance examines what constitutes a request for reasonable accommodation, who is entitled to receive a reasonable accommodation, and an employer's ability to ask questions and seek documentation after a request has been made. During this distance learning program, Sharon Rennert, EEOC Attorney Advisor, will highlight some of the major issues under the new guidance and take questions from participants.
