The Great Lakes ADA Center is pleased to offer a variety of conferences and training
opportunities regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Programs highlighted
on this website are either conducted by and/or sponsored by the Great Lakes ADA
Center as a member of the ADA National Network.
The ADA National Network provides a comprehensive set of services for up-to-date
information, consultation, referrals, resources, and training on the Americans with
Disabilities Act for businesses, employers, governmental entities, service providers
and individuals with disabilities.
This series of webinars will address a variety of issues associated with ensuring federal agencies have the knowledge they need to meet their obligations under Section 508. The series is co-sponsored by the Accessibility Committee of the CIO Council, the U. S. Access Board, and eFedLink/ODEP. The sessions are 90 minutes in length. Real-Time captioning and Video Sign Language Interpreter are available for each session and will be broadcast via the webinar platform. A telephone option for receiving audio is also available (non-toll free number).

March 26, 2019 - Accessible Content Shared Through Social Media
This series brings together the ADA National Network, National Center on Accessibility (NCA), the LEAD Program with The John F. Kennedy
Center for the Performing Arts and The Smithsonian Institution. The goal is to share their acquired knowledge and expertise in creating
equal access and opportunity for people with disabilities in the areas of Arts and Recreation with the broader community. Sessions will
focus on legal compliance issues, best practices in the field and practical "how to's" across a broad range of topics. The intended
audiences include but are not limited to ADA Coordinators, Program Administrators and the Staff, Volunteer Program Administrators,
Federal, State and Local Government Agencies and disability advocates.

The ADA National Network is hosting a series of six webinar sessions targeting the lodging industry to provide in-depth information on the impact of
the revisions to the ADA regulations and accessibility standards. Several major policy and procedural changes are needed to meet these new requirements
some of which had compliance dates of March 15, 2011 and others which are triggered on March 15, 2012. The sessions are designed to provide timely
information by experts on various aspects of the regulations.The programs are 90 minutes in length and provided free to interested persons.

January 31, 2018 - Custom AT Solutions For Employment
The State of Illinois received a grant from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center on
Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD). The purpose of the grant is to promote health, prevent chronic disease, and
increase the quality of life among people with disabilities. The Illinois Department of Public Health Disability and Health Program
will work alongside the other states to increase capacity and action in health promotion, access to health care and emergency
preparedness activities for people with disabilities. A part of this effort includes hosting of education programs that promote
knowledge regarding health issues and people with disabilities. This series of training programs will be conducted via webinar
and be made available FREE to those interested.
