2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design Session 1 of 2

This session addresses the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design which was presented in 2 parts. Part 2 was presented on April 16, 2020. This content is a required core element for the ADA Coordinators Certification Training Program.

The 2010 Standards for Accessible Design is the enforceable standard for use in new construction and alterations of facilities covered by Title II and Title III of the ADA. This 2-part session provided an overview of changes from the previous enforceable standards, scoping and technical requirements for new construction and alterations, practical strategies to ensure ADA compliance for your building projects, and provides new tools and resources to evaluate accessibility.

Part 1 incorporates questions that were asked during the live session. Part 2 has a supplemental video that addresses the questions that were posed during this session for which the presenter did not have time to cover. Both recordings should be reviewed to get the full content of this topic.
