Questions for presenters:
1 |
If someone from the public asks for captioning on a meeting, can we use TEAMS or ZOOM captioning or do we need to use a third-party vendor? I know TEAMS/ZOMM doesn't have 100% accuracy. We are unable to find anyone locally to do captioning, so would need to use an online vendor. The requestor said the ZOOM captioning worked for them, so we continue to use ZOOM or TEAMS captioning until we hear otherwise. Is this okay if the person requesting is okay with ZOOM/TEAMS or do we need to always use third-party captioning? |
2 |
If a member of the public asks for an ADA accommodation as it relates to their public records or public information request (we are a state agency) what obligations do we have as far as assisting them with understanding the information responsive to their requests? For example, if a member of the public submits a public records or public information request and then states they need an accommodation under the ADA due to their learning disability, to what extent do we need to accommodate them (taking into consideration we are a state agency and not an institution of higher learning). Thank you. |
3 |
I am finding that GoToWebinar has NO closed captioning capability on its platform. Is there something being done at the ADA to address this? If not, how do I file a complaint on a virtual platform? |
4 |
Are local governments required to have a TTY machine on site?
Should we have sign language offerings at each public counter?
|
5 |
What accessibility requirements exist for a State agency-run social media account? If none, what best practices would you recommend? |
6 |
Is the entity required to offer different ways to communicate? For example, is just offering a phone number to a service department enough even though someone wants email or online chat? |
