Biography


LaWanda Cook, PhD, CRC is a Senior Extension Associate at Cornell University’s Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability, where she is a training specialist and coordinator of the ADA Trainer Leadership Network (TLN) with the Northeast ADA Center, instructor for the Disability Studies program, and a PI for systems change initiatives. Her research focuses on the wellbeing of people with disabilities and inclusion in all aspects of community life. Her scholarship seeks to improve understanding of the lived experiences of multiply marginalized people with disabilities, and to identify how systems such as the public vocational rehabilitation program and the legal system can deliver equitable, culturally responsive services. Her current work focuses on improving outcomes for justice-involved youth with disabilities.
