Tamara Perry has been an Attorney with the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) of the U.S. Department of Education (Department) since 2009. In June 2019, Tamara joined OCR’s newly formed National Digital Access Team (NDAT). As an NDAT member, Tamara works collaboratively with recipients of federal financial assistance from the Department and public entities (i.e., school districts, public and private colleges and universities, public libraries, state boards of education) to ensure that their websites and online programs, services, and activities are accessible for individuals with disabilities in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Tamara recently became a Data Literacy Team Ambassador for the Department to help maximize the Department’s use and understanding of data and evidence to inform decisions and foster data literacy among employees with diverse roles across offices.

Tamara received her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago, her Ph.D. from Northwestern University, and her B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
