Biography


Ray Grott, MA, ATP, RET is Director of the Rehabilitation Engineering Technology (RET) Project at San Francisco State University where he taught classes in assistive technology for 20 years. He has a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Technology from SFSU and is certified as an (ATP) Assistive Technology Professional and Rehabilitation Engineering Technologist (RET) from RESNA—the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. Besides teaching, Mr. Grott has worked directly with hundreds of people with a wide range of disabilities, primarily those seeking employment or needing work-related accommodations. He is nationally-known for his custom design work for workers, students, and parents with disabilities and has made numerous presentations on various aspects of assistive technology to other professionals. He has been honored with the Mentor and Fellow Awards from RESNA and the W.F. Faulkes Award from the National Rehabilitation Association for his program’s “contribution of national importance to the increase of knowledge in the field of rehabilitation.” He is currently serving RESNA as its Immediate Past President.
