Biography


Billy W. Wright is a former United States Marine who served two tours in Beirut, Lebanon. Having received all meritorious promotions, Billy had an outstanding service career and will always remember his fellow Marines who were lost in the Lebanon War, "Beirut Bombing". Mr. Wright has over 15 years' experience working for various agencies, colleges, rehabilitation professionals, and organizations that provide job placement and training for persons with disabilities. In addition, he was the 1999 recipient of the Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities "Evie Cutler Public Service Award". The award is given by the State of Maryland to individuals or groups who demonstrate outstanding performance and going beyond the call of duty in support of employment of persons with disabilities. Mr. Wright is currently the Director of Veterans' Initiatives with the Employer Assistance & Recruiting Network (EARN), a national program under the Department of Labor's (DOL), Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). Prior, he served as Operations Manager for EARN, as well as the Ticket-to-Hire program under the Social Security Administration (SSA). Before joining EARN, Mr. Wright served as Chairperson of the Individuals with Disabilities and Disabled Veterans Subcommittee, while at the Naval Research Lab, representing the organization both internally and externally. Mr. Wright attended Coastal Carolina Community College while in the Marine Corps and the University of the District of Columbia, majoring in business administration.
