Biography


Ryan Smith joined the Great Plains ADA Center in December of 2021. He is currently the regional TA and training coordinator for the center. Ryan graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in education in 2001. In 2014 he completed a second bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Columbia College, then moved on to the University of Missouri where he received a Master’s degree in philosophy in 2018. He completed his ADA Coordinator Training Program certification shortly after joining the Great Plains ADA Center. The unifying strand throughout his various work has been a desire to improve dialogue and education around human rights issues, with a focus on educational opportunity, labor rights and now a sharpened focus on disability rights.
