Depending on who you ask, the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA) either broadened the scope of who is protected under the ADA, or restored the intent of Congress to broadly construe the definition of disability. So, what is the definition of disability under the new ADA? How does this definition differ from other definitions? How does the ADAAA affect you as an individual with a disability, a human resource professional or employer, or business operator? Attorney Aaron McCullough will offer an analysis of the law and guidance on these broader issues, and delve into situations and conditions some might consider within the gray area of disability including: Impairments that are cyclical or short in duration Pregnancy Phobias Drug and alcohol use, addiction, and rehabilitation (including a discussion of medicinal use of marijuana) ADA considerations for employees who have experienced domestic violence and stalking
