Wednesday, November 20, 2019
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM Eastern Time Zone

Description

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in employment, state and local government programs, public accommodations, commercial facilities, transportation, and telecommunications. This webinar will touch on a variety of improper questions as they pertain to ADA:

  • Title I (Employment)

  • Title II (Public Entities)

  • Title III (Public Accommodations)

  • Can an employer ask what a person's disability is? Can a restaurant ask a service dog owner for a demonstration to prove they have a disability? Can a public school ask for a doctor's note to grant a parent a reasonable accommodation when dropping off or picking up their child on the campus? Can an automobile dealership require a person to have a driver's license in order to purchase a vehicle? When is a question merely offensive versus discriminatory? Join us as we discuss and compare questions like these as well as applicable cases and their legal considerations.
